Ramadan
Ramadan is the 9th month of the Islamic calendar and the holiest month in Islam. During this month, Muslims abstain from all forms of food and sexual activity from dawn to dusk as part of their religious practice. It is called 'Siam' in Arabic; In Bangladesh which is basically known as 'Roza'.
রমজান বা রামাদান ইসলামি বর্ষপঞ্জির ৯ম মাস এবং ইসলাম ধর্মমতে সবচেয়ে পবিত্রতম মাস এটি। এই মাসে মুসলমানগণ ধর্ম চর্চার অংশ হিসেবে ভোর থেকে সুর্যাস্তের পর পর্যন্ত সকল প্রকার পানাহার ও যৌনক্রিয়াদি বর্জন করে থাকেন। একে আরবীতে 'সিয়াম' বলে; বাংলাদেশে যা মুলতঃ 'রোযা' বলে পরিচিত।
